Satoko participated in a coming of age ceremony in her hometown Kyoto. She will be turning 20 in March. She was received by the mayor, Daisaku Kadogawa: “Congratulations on becoming a new adult. I’m expecting you to flourish at the Olympic Games, after a wonderful recovery from the stress fracture you suffered last year.” Miyahara responded: “I am sincerely happy I was able to accomplish the dream of participating in the Olympics. I will work diligently in order to deliver Miyahara-like programs. This year I will be aiming towards new heights.” Satoko got the red kimono from her mother: “I’m not used to wearing it so it’s a fresh feeling”. (1) (2)
